Nestled in a natural reserve, charged with volcanic energy, overlooking breathtaking sunsets, and defined by peace and quiet, Pollara is a perfect oasis for yoga and meditation.
For this reason, during June, September, and October, we organize yoga events and collaborate with a Sicilian instructor who, upon request, holds classes at the Locanda.
Salina, known as the Green Island, is the most fertile of the seven sisters and home to the finest wine production. The island hosts more than 10 wineries with a rich history and tradition.
We will be delighted to guide you through the different wineries to discover the best Aeolian wines. Additionally, we collaborate with local farms and forest guides to offer unique experiences such as mountain tastings and culinary journeys to discover Salina’s seasonal delicacies.
The Locanda’s restaurant story began with a love for cooking, inspired by our mother, Amelia.
She ran the kitchen for many years, working with skill and passion using the best local products to prepare traditional Sicilian and Aeolian dishes. Today, with the kitchen managed by our chef, Mrs. Amelia enjoys teaching guests how to prepare classic Sicilian recipes.
Salina’s central location in the Aeolian archipelago makes it a strategic base for exploring the other six islands. Every day, specialized boats depart from Salina, showing guests the island’s most beautiful coves and taking them to discover the wonders of the surrounding islands.
Crystal-clear waters, fresh air, and blue skies frame these sea excursions—and if you’re lucky, you may encounter dolphins and turtles.
Salina’s ancient name, Didyme (meaning “twins” in Greek), comes from the two mountains that dominate the island: Monte Fossa delle Felci and Monte dei Porri, which resemble twin volcanoes when seen from the sea.
Today, both mountains are protected natural reserves, crossed by a myriad of trails leading to the peaks and to the various villages of the island.
Salina is the perfect destination for an underwater adventure. The island is surrounded by shoals and underwater caves where magical encounters are possible, offering a unique and ever-changing seabed. Being at the center of the archipelago also allows easy access to the other islands for a sea-focused holiday.
Salina has two diving centers, managed by experienced seafarers, who guide guests on unique excursions tailored to their experience and preferences.
